Introduction to HTML.

HTML is surprisingly easy to learn, in fact, you should be able to learn basics of its rules and syntax about 5 minutes to and so and to be authoring to your own HTML files in short orders however before the start discussing syntax, I want to give your HTML Introduction.

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and name applies that it is markup language this means that unlike scripting or programming language they use scripting to perform the functions a markup language use tags that identify content.

Before we get started to learn  HTML, I want to take a minute and trying to explain the importance of HTML, why so critical for web design you also heard me much time that new web designers learn at least three core languages.

HTML CSS JS

Those three languages from the backbone of all websites and web contents and their critical skills any web designer learn however if you ask me which of three which I have to learn first and most I say without any hesitation HTML.

Although CSS controls that how page looks and JavaScript controls how the behaves.

HTML CSS JS WITH definition

No HTML= No Webpage.

HTML is used to markup content in order to explain. What the content is and how they relate to other contents page it does with tag.

If you have never seen  HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) code, it is possible you might listen about HTML that it is used for creating web pages.

Version 1.O.

There are several versions of HTML since the Web began. Version 1.0 released in 1991.  It was the first release of HTML to the world. Many people were not the Well-known creating website at the time, language was very limiting.

Version 2.O.

Formalized the syntax and many of the rules. it Marked the first release of HTML as “standard.” it also added original 1.0 specifications and new features mixed.

Version 3.2.

This is where the trouble started. Netscape extension tags introduced new abilities in this version.

Version 4.01.

Version 4.01 released in 1999.   It also supported HTML’s new supporting presentation language, cascading style sheets.  Therefore HTML 4.0 became the large development of the HTML standards. The W3C recommended HTML 4.0 in December ’97 and became the official standard in April 1998.

Version XHTML 1.O released in 2000.

2004: WHATWG forms to continue the evolution of HTML. Results in the publishing of the HTML5 draft.

2008: Finally W3C adopted HTML5 and given a working charter.W3C and WHATWG continue development.

( Finally, W3C took the decision that HTML is still the future of the web.  W3c abandoned XHTML due to slow implementation and community support for  and started to continue working with WHATWG (Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group).

HTML5.

Finally After HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0 . As a result Now time for HTML-5.  The designing of HTML5 is for the present and future. Because its specification will be working with for the next decade, therefore, its development process is slow. New elements, attributes, and abilities were added.

  • 2004: WHATWG begins what will become HTML5.
  • 2007: w3c charter new working group and adopt WHATWG’s work, renamed HTML5.
  • 2009:  XHTML 2.0 charter was not renewed by W3C.
  • 2010:  public interest in HTML5 grows.
  • HTML5 is an evolution, not a revolution.
  • New semantic elements and attributes.
  • Build in APIs to assist in building the web application.
  • Added support for audio and video.
  • HTML will reduce the need for plug-ins.

The Current State of HMTL.

There are currently two specifications of HTML being developed. Although the two groups cooperate, the specifications are considered independent of one another.

HTML.

The specification developed by the WHATWG. As a living standard, the version number has been dropped, and it undergoes constant updating and revision.

HTML5.

A specification developed by the W3C, with clear milestones for a stable specification.

What’s Different in HTML5?

In terms of syntax, not much. HTML5 contains much clearer rules surrounding error handling and parsing pages, and much has been added related to developing applications. The W3C has taken most of these APIs and moved them to separate specification.

What Should You Focus On?

Learn HTML Syntax First.

There’s no good reason not to learn the HTML5 syntax. Focus on learning the elements and syntax first. Gradually learn the new capabilities in HTML5 once you become comfortable with writing clear HTML.
